Le Bocal invites us for zero waste holidays

zero waste

Have you ever thought about spending your holidays or even a weekend at a zero waste guesthouse? Most likely a part of you doesn’t even know that it exists. Others may be a bit suspicious because they are not very familiar with the zero waste philosophy. We will tell you right away, don’t be afraid! Camille and Loïc have created a zero waste house to help change our habits, which are not always very eco-friendly. Le Bocal’s door is open to all of you who are motivated to practice sustainable solutions and avoid producing additional waste.

The zero waste guesthouse is located in southwestern France (442 km from Paris), in a small village called Seigné. A spacious house with blue shutters welcomes the visitors. On the ground floor, there is the living room with the fireplace and an open kitchen. On the first floor, there is a bathroom and three bedrooms, including one decorated with furniture made of cardboard. All these rooms have windows that look out into the garden. Certainly, there is no splendid lawn, but a henhouse, a swimming pool transformed into a greenhouse and a vegetable garden which together make the charm of this small country-style paradise so delightful. Do you need to do some shopping? Do you want to have a picnic? Reusable kits are also available for guests.

Here you will not only be able to relax but also take the first steps in the zero-waste initiative in a pleasant way. In fact, Camille and Loïc propose several workshops. I decided to enjoy my stay and made three of them. First, Loïc taught me how to make sourdough bread. I enjoyed it very much and decided to do some at home regularly. It’s simple, easy and the satisfaction is guaranteed. Then guided by Camille, I made a natural deodorant and a laundry detergent. Everything is already tested and approved! I highly recommend it!

This short stay in the zero waste cottage was very enriching for me and motivated me to continue to improve my lifestyle by reducing the number of waste. If you also want to change your habits and don’t know where to start, don’t hesitate to visit this young couple. They will know how to lead you on the right path.
