The history of Veggie World goes back to 2011, when exactly 21 exhibitors attended the very first Vegan Festival that took place in Germany. Nowadays, Veggie World is known and organised in 8 European cities. Last weekend it opened its doors for Parisian vegans for the third time already.
For whole two days, the cultural centre le Centquatre was transformed into a real vegan paradise! As per usual the food section got the most attention of all. We could find there all the tasty alternatives for meat or cheese. But there was also a real surprise waiting for the visitors – a meatless salmon made with seaweeds by Odentella! I could not possibly leave without tasting it… It doesn’t only taste like a real salmon but also has the same texture. It a really interesting alternative for vegans, vegetarian but also people allergic to fish.
I also felt in love with ONDA, the specialist of Brazilian kitchen…they really made it to the next level with beautiful, rainbow-like smoothies! They taste even better than they look!
Even if the Festival is made mostly for vegans, we met people who came just out of curiosity or they are searching for some inspiration and to discover new flavours.
But the veganism isn’t only about food. It’s also a way of living based on respect for nature and animals. That’s why the vegan fashion is more and more popular. Manifest011 prepared a little surprise for the visitors, a fashion show all dedicated to ethical brands.
There was obviously a little corner for the beauty addicts offering cruelty-free products.
There were also some masterclasses and conferences for those who wanted to learn something new! Unfortunately, I couldn’t participate to any of them, but who knows maybe during the next edition, which is soon by the way!
