For centuries, Paris has attracted artists from around the world. No wonder then, that also Kasia Klon finally came to the French capital. This Polish artist graduated with honors from Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz.
Kasia is an outgoing, social person passionate about travel, be it near or far, and the discovery of different cultures and places. For more than 11 years now she has been living a nomadic lifestyle. Therefore her biography is full of amazing stories and unusual adventures. She doesn’t mind her life turning upside down sometimes. It’s all about not being bored and there is nothing worse for her than monotony.
Just before graduating she had an opportunity to study in Turin and completed an internship in New York at Caelum Gallery. Meanwhile, she made also a little stop in Berlin. And then, she arrived in Paris. Her French adventure starts in the printing house Idem Paris. Unfortunately, an allergy to ink thwarted Kasia from getting an internship there. This discovery made Kasia sank into the depths of creative depression. This is how a series of subway tickets decorated with various scenes were created. And soon after that, she released a series of painting with an iconic black background titled “Aphrodite”. Painting was a complete newness in her life (except little period during studies), that somehow brought her a relief and peace of mind. Those images externalize delicacy and strength in the same that. They represent symmetry, sea creatures and a strong woman. Her next series was fully inspired by…allergy. In fact, the first picture about allergy was made before “Aphrodite” and she liked it so much that she decided to continue on this subject. What’s striking about them is the range of colors used seeing that the subject isn’t very pleasant. Perhaps at that time, Kasia felt that something new is going to happen in her life. After 8 years of work with graphics, at which she reached perfection, she took a new artistic direction – painting.
But this is just a little fragment of Kasia’s fascinating biography. Now, it’s your turn to discover her talent and the personality behind it! Until the end of March 2018, you can admire her art in one of the most charming artistic places in Paris, at 59 Rivoli. This address is way more than just an atelier and art gallery, it’s above all an amazing and unprecedented place of the cult of living art, which by the way has a quite interesting history because it was actually born from an ordinary squat. It perfectly reflects the soul of Kasia, and her work matches ideally the unique character of the place. It looks like the walls of 59 Rivoli were made just for Kasia’s art.
But her story doesn’t end up here… She has one more hobby that gives her pleasure here in Paris. And it’s all about street art. But we are going to reveal more soon…
To be continued.
